How PlazaCompare Works: Comparisons and Editorial Standards
PlazaCompare helps UK shoppers compare product listings, prices, condition and buying information. Our current marketplace coverage focuses on Amazon, eBay and AliExpress. Coverage varies by search and category; the site does not include every retailer or guarantee the lowest price available anywhere.
Compare the exact item and delivered cost
Match the model, generation, storage, specification and included accessories. Compare new, used and refurbished listings separately. A replacement part, single earbud or charging cable is a different purchase from a complete product. Check the selected listing’s seller, location, condition, delivery charges, warranty and returns before ordering.
Where prices and product information come from
Listing information comes from connected marketplace data sources and retailer pages. Prices and availability are checked periodically, rather than monitored continuously across the entire internet. Data can change or become unavailable between checks. Where a date is shown, it relates to the recorded information in that view. Confirm the price, stock and final checkout total on the retailer’s page.
Price histories reflect the observations we have recorded for the tracked listing. They may cover different periods and can contain gaps. They are useful context for a buying decision, rather than a complete history of every seller or product variant.
Conditions, specifications and categories
Retailer condition labels and cosmetic grades vary. Read the seller’s definition and photographs rather than assuming two similar labels mean the same thing. Some condition labels are inferred from listing-title wording. Category assignment also uses product-type information; ambiguous products are placed in an owner review list. Product names and retailer descriptions can contain errors, so important specifications should be checked against the manufacturer’s documentation.
Reviews and research-based guides
Original reviews retain their original author and evidence. New research-based guides may be prepared with automated assistance and identify that assistance on the page. They explain buying criteria and reference primary sources. Automatic publication checks look for structural problems, missing categories, duplicate topics, broken source links and certain unsupported claims. Those checks do not establish that every factual statement is correct. Articles that fail the checks remain in a review queue.
Hands-on experience should be supported by the evidence shown in the review. Research-based guidance should be read with its sources and date. We do not generate customer comments or invented test scores to make a page appear independently reviewed.
Affiliate links
Some retailer links are affiliate links. PlazaCompare may earn a commission from qualifying purchases made through those links. Comparison coverage is limited to the available sources; an offer appearing here is not a promise that it is the cheapest, most suitable or only option.
